New training courses in Erfurt and Berlin are now open for application:
We are looking for interested people with a migration background to be trained as
Ipso will start new one year training courses in Erfurt, Berlin and Hamburg in 2016 and 2017 for qualified refugees or people with a migration background. The training will start with a 3-month intensive course every day from 9 am to 4 pm. The following 9 months will consist of practical work with intensive supervision one day a week and two more sessions of intensive training within the 9 month period. During this phase the trainees will already offer psycho-social counselling services via the online video tool www.ipso e-care.com or face to face for refugees in Berlin and Germany. The training is free of costs. Transportation within Berlin will be paid for.
Interested people with migration background/refugees with good knowledge in either German or English. Qualification in the area of psychology, medicine, social work or education or sufficient professional experience in social work contexts. Important is a deeper interest in a cultural sensitive empathetic work. We are loooking forward to welcome colleagues who like to work in a team and who are open to an intensive training with self-experience.

We are looking for
interested psychologists / psychotherapists, social educators and social workers.
Our consultants are trained in accordance with the Ipso consullting approach and its methodology. The duration of the training depends on prior knowledge and skills.
When and where?
The training will be offered in individual modules mainly at weekends in the Ipso-office, Fuggerstr. 6, 10777 Berlin.
We are looking for consultants and counselors, especially from the Arab-speaking world.
The costs of training are covered by the Ipso gGmbH. They include the lessons of the individual modules and subsequent supervised consultations with clients.
After the training:
Counsellors who have successfully completed this training are hired by Ipso as freelancers. Your payment depends on the number of counselling sessions, which is determined by you.
Ipso counselling approach:
The manualized counselling approach requires an accurate interviewing and aims to help the client as quickly as possible with a solution- and resource-oriented counselling approach to greater self-efficacy. After the first session your client should be able to see first ways how to improve his situation and to influence it. The counselling approach is based on Ipso’s experiences in Afghanistan, Haiti, Sri Lanka and China. Last year alone, counsellors trained by Ipso in Afghanistan have consulted more than 50 000 people within the local health system.
Duration of a consultation:
An online session lasts 30 minutes. The documentation of the counselling sessions also takes place online. All counselors receive a tablet with the software and can use it for their online consultation.
Regular individual and group supervision meetings for mutual exchange of experience and personal training are included as well.
An evaluation of the counselling session will be filled out directly after each session by the counsellor and the client. This immediate feedback, personal supervision and regular intervision groups help the counsellors and us to improve the quality of this service continuously.
