VBC training free of charge for trainees who commit to volunteer as Ipso gGmbH counselors following the training
Training in English for international psychologists, psychotherapists and experienced social workers with migration background
Are you interested in culturally sensitive, native-speaking psychosocial counseling?
Ipso gGmbH – International Psychosocial Organisation – offers an online training in Value Based Counseling (VBC) starting in early 2023.
The VBC training enables and empowers trainees with migration history who have a professional background in psychology, psychotherapy or social work to work with immigrants and refugees in the field of psychosocial counseling.
Are you an experienced health professional fluent in Arabic, Dari/Farsi/Pashto, Urdu, French, Serbian, Croatian, Albanian or any African language?
We aim at instructing counselors from all over the world in a culturally sensitive psychosocial counseling approach that helps clients to restore their sense of self-efficacy to live their meaningful life.
The centerpiece of VBC are non-directive, structured conversations that counselors offer in their native language to clients who are affected by stressful migration experiences.
We offer you:
- A 1-year efficacy tested VBC training program free of charge consisting of
- 3 months of group based online training via our e-learning platform
- 9 months of practical counseling work at the Ipso gGmbH counseling ambulance, accompanied by 25 supervision sessions offered by the Ipso team
- the opportunity to expand your practical counseling skills by the supervised documentation of counseling sessions with your own clients
- the chance for personal development by joining a guided self-experience group with whom you will meet regularly throughout the training
Apply to become part of the Ipso team and work as a certified VBC counselor based in Berlin
The English taught VBC training starts in early 2023. The number of participants is limited.
