In Jordan, a large number of Syrian refugees live under extremely difficult conditions in camps and urban settlements. Poverty, irregular income, fragile family structures and other factors are a tremendous psychological burden for many of them. Our project offers easily accessible psychosocial support in cooperation with our partner INTERSOS. Via our platform www.ipso-care.com our Syrian Counselors working in Germany are available for a secure video chat to provide confidential counseling in Arabic. This helps to reduce a substantial gap in local mental health services and adds an important element to the project work of our partner INTERSOS, who has set up access points for our counseling service at three locations in Amman, Karak and Irbid and manages their use. The service is open to adults and adolescents from the refugee community and Jordanian host community alike regardless of their gender, ethnicity, religion or other affiliations.
