Since February 2022, countless people nationwide are committing themselves to help Ukrainians in a wide variety of ways and spark a wave of solidarity by ensuring their stay in Germany. Under the project title “Razom – United at Ipso” we provide free psychosocial support for everyone who is committed to help Ukrainians in Germany. People who are committed to and with people from other parts of the world are also very welcome in the Razom project.
“Razom” is the Ukrainian word for “together”.
The offer is currently only available in German. However, a “razom”-program at Ipso in English and in Ukrainian is process of planning.
Why we created “Razom”
The huge distress, that goes along with war and catastrophes, and is currently brought in front of our eyes by the situation in Ukraine, appeals to our deep need for social cohesion. Because of everyone’s ability to empathize emotionally with others and take their perspective, we develop an idea of what our fellow being needs at that moment – guided by our intuitive understanding.
However, we should be aware that caring for others and caring for ourselves are closely related. As a consequence of the overwhelming support, many people are currently dealing with emotional challenges. At Ipso, we want to use our resources and our expertise to adequately support hosts, host families, social workers as well as other volunteers and protect them from emotional overload.

What opportunities does “Razom” offer?
From May 2022 on we will offer four modules on socio-cultural topics and mental health, led by our experienced counselors.
Every module consists of two separate webinars held via the online platform Zoom. Each module is self-contained. The topics of our modules deal with intercultural understanding and communication, trauma (consequences) and self-care. A more detailed description and schedule of the webinars can be found below.
In our “raZoom-Talks”, which will be held via Zoom-meetings, we provide discussion groups on topics that are important to the participants and that burden them in their everyday life, living together or at work. They offer space for reflection, exchange of experiences as well as mutual inspiration and support/networking and are curated by our experienced counselors.
Alternating weekly, the raZoom-Talks are divided into talk-groups for “host families/hosts and volunteers” and for “social workers” all helping people in need from the Ukraine as well as from other world regions.
The meetings are open for everyone who want to join. They are accessible via the zoom link that you find below with the dates.
In certain situations, we also offer the opportunity to take private counseling sessions.
