City.Zen Community Gatherings – June 2025
From love letters and honest conversations to shared culinary experiences – this week was filled with moving and meaningful moments.
On Wednesday and Thursday, we invited the public to write “love letters” to our neighborhoods in Berlin as part of our community project City.Zen. These personal messages, alongside contributions from various initiatives and collectives, served as a powerful reminder of what belonging truly means.
On Thursday evening, we had the pleasure of participating in the Spice & Slice event at the Berlinische Galerie. There, we presented one of our most heartfelt projects: a community cookbook created together with residents of the accommodation at Stallschreiberstraße. Through food, we explored how the feeling of home can be preserved and rediscovered.
The week concluded on Sunday evening at the Kant Kino, where we were part of a moving discussion hosted by Doxumentale. The conversation focused on what it means to arrive in a new country – the challenges of adaptation, maintaining one’s identity, finding community, confronting racism, and the vital role of family across generations.
It was a joy to meet many of you throughout the week. We’re deeply grateful for the shared moments, the conversations, and the collective learning. Thank you to everyone who joined us!
